How to create the Solar System (please note all distances are approximate. In the real solar system the planets are actually much smaller in relation to the area they are in.):
● Draw a circle the size of an umbrella
● Measure a distance of just over 10 cm and a ball bearing size ball to represent Mercury.
● From Mercury, measure another 10 cm and draw a mini-marshmallow sized ball to represent Venus.
● From Venus, measure 7 cm and draw another mini-marshmallow to represent Earth.
● From Earth, measure 15 cm and draw a pea to represent Mars.
● From Mars, measure 13 cm and draw a Styrofoam ball to represent Jupiter.
● From Jupiter, measure 1.2 metres and draw an orange or grapefruit to represent Saturn.
● From Saturn, measure 2.7 metres and draw a golf ball to represent Uranus.
● From Uranus, measure 3 metres and draw a ping pong ball to represent Neptune
