Another fantastic term is about to start with some wonderful things in store including:
- NAPLAN for Year 5
- Our HSIE unit on Government including our excursion to Canberra on 3-5th June.
- This unit provides opportunities for students to investigate the people and processes involved in the functions of State and Federal governments. The unit focuses on the responsibilities of different levels of governments and how parliaments work.
- Wakakiri
- A science unit "What's the Matter" looks at the matter that is all around us. It can be as small as the particles that make up the tiniest cell in our skin or as large as the whole galaxy. Anything that takes up space and has mass is called matter. The matter that we experience every day and the matter that we are made of is only a tiny fraction of the matter that exists in the universe. By investigating and understanding matter, scientists are able to find out more about the universe and its possibilities.
- Half yearly reports go out at the end of this term.
- Enrichment workshops for selected students.
Welcome to Stage 3, 2017.

We have so many exciting things coming up this term.
- We are busy setting up our classrooms. Thank you to those who have already brought in supplies, including tissues, hand towels and soap.
- We have our swimming carnival in week 2.
- We are starting to get organised for our overnight excursion to Canberra from June 3rd to 5th, Term 2. This excursion supports our Government unit in Term 2.
- Our Integrated unit this term is "Who has the Power." This topic moves from colonial Australia to the development of Australia as a nation, particularly after 1901. Students explore the factors that led to Federation and experiences of democracy and citizenship over time. They understand the significance of Australia’s British heritage, the Westminster system and other models that influenced the development of Australia’s system of government. Students learn about the way of life of people who migrated to Australia and their contributions to Australia’s economic and social development.
- In Science we are looking at how animals survive in the Desert.
- Interim reports go out at the end of the term, so we are busy conducting preliminary assessments of the students so we know where to go to next. Students are doing an outstanding job!
